IBM i Developer / Systems Analyst

We’re looking for an IBM i Developer / Systems Analyst to join our growing IT team. You’ll work alongside an experienced IT Manager, building and improving business-critical applications that keep our operation running. What You’ll Do

• Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM i applications in RPG Free, CL/CLLE, and SQL.
• Support modules covering Order Management, Production, Inventory, Customer Management, Trucking, and Accounting.
• Collaborate with business users and offshore resources on requirements and testing.
• Help integrate internal and external systems using APIs (XML, JSON, REST).
• Assist with system administration tasks, backups, and monitoring under the IT Manager’s guidance.
• Participate in modernization projects connecting IBM i with cloud and web applications.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position at our Allentown, NJ facility. Candidates must be comfortable working in person within a collaborative team setting.

• 2 + years of IBM i / RPG development experience (professional, academic, or internship).
• Proficiency in RPG Free, SQL, and CL/CLLE; familiarity with RDi and service programs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and stored procedures.
• Curiosity about newer technologies—Python, PHP, JavaScript, REST APIs—and how they connect to legacy systems.
• Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux environments and networking.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
