Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled RN with Operating Room experience. This pivotal role offers hands-on involvement in perioperative care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes across pediatric to geriatric patient populations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active RN license
- Demonstrated competency in operating room nursing, including emergency procedures
- Capable assessment skills across all life stages, from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols and effective use of safety equipment
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality standards
- Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic health record systems
- Prior experience with patient education, pre-op and post-op assessment preferred
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract basis; shift schedule to be provided during interview process
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive and systematic patient assessments, adjusting care for diverse age groups and clinical needs
- Deliver direct nursing care in the OR, supporting safe and efficient patient flow before, during, and after surgery
- Document the nursing process, interventions, and patient progress with accuracy and completeness
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital policies, professional standards, and areas for personal clinical growth
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure high levels of patient and family satisfaction, maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Adhere strictly to National Patient Safety Goals, including use of patient identifiers and universal precautions
- Individualize care based on surgical procedure, anesthesia type, and patient response
- Assume accountability for care prioritization and coordination across the surgical continuum
- Participate in Pre Admission Testing (PAT), ensuring all pre-op requirements are efficiently completed
