Travel CNA Job Details – Newark, NY

• Assignment Type: Travel CNA (locum tenens)
• Healthcare Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC), Dementia Care Unit
• Location: Newark, NY 14513 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Start Date: September 24, 2025
• End Date: December 24, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Evening shift, 5x8-hour shifts/week (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1100 - $1130
• Patient Census: 20 residents
• Patient Ratios: Days 1:5, Nights 1:10, Weekends 1:7
• Float Requirement: Yes, as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 16 hours

Certified Nursing Assistant Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant license)
• Valid New York state CNA license (must be in hand before submission)
• Minimum 1 year of CNA experience in long-term care or healthcare setting
• BLS certification required
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the Newark, NY facility

CNA Job Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate care to residents with neurobehavioral diagnoses, including Alzheimer's and dementia
• Assist with ambulation, feeding, turning, and repositioning of residents
• Perform bathing, hygiene, and bed shampoo tasks for LTC residents
• Change linens (occupied and unoccupied beds)
• Monitor and record vital signs, weight, urine output, and drain output
• Support residents with incontinence care, mouth care, perineal care, and skin care
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts, transfer belts, wheelchairs, and oxygen tanks
• Practice safe body mechanics for lifting and transferring residents
• Implement isolation precautions and don/remove PPE as required
• Promptly report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
• Float to other LTC units as needed to support facility operations
