The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
The Nursing Supervisor contributes to organizational strategic planning, and is responsible for today's hospital operations, implementation of standards of care, attainment of goals, and implementation of current evidenced-based practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- 7-10 years of direct experience in the field as a licensed NJ RN
- BSN with 2 plus years experience in a nursing acute care leadership role or must be enrolled in a BSN program in NLN accredited school, must be completed within the 1st year of starting the CAC or Nursing Supervisor role
- Critical care experience
- Completion of all orientation requirements
Preferred:
- Masters Degree in Nursing
- National certification
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
- Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
- Advance Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements:
- Part-Time
- Nights
- 7PM-7AM
- Weekends and rotating holiday commitment
Essential Functions:
- The Nursing Supervisor's major responsibility is the implementation of the mission, vision, philosophy, core values and standards of practice for all staff on off-tours and weekends
- Serves as a catalyst and role model, providing administrative leadership and direction
- Responsible for allocating the available resources to promote autonomous, effective, safe, cost-efficient, and compassionate quality care
- Facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and other disciplines, as well as with the healthcare community
- The CAC is accountable for the acute care environment and must create learning experiences that are open and respectful, at the same time promoting the sharing of expertise
- This ability to enhance the practice environment is critical to the recruitment and retention of all staff
